About
Hussain Nahid is the Founder and Managing Director of Food Safety Associates, and the driving force behind one of the longest-standing food safety consultancies in the Maldives. A Fellow Member of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), Nahid has spent two decades championing the cause of food safety, public health, and operational excellence across the region.
His journey began in 2005, when he joined Food Safety Asia as Manager — Operations and Training. In that role he built the operational backbone of the organisation and led the training programmes that introduced thousands of food handlers, supervisors, and managers to internationally recognised safety standards. His combination of technical depth and operational discipline soon led to his promotion to Director of Operations, where he took on full responsibility for client delivery, audit programmes, and the growth of the consultancy across hotels, resorts, food manufacturers, and institutional clients.
Today, as Founder and Managing Director of Food Safety Associates, Nahid leads the wider group — overseeing the full scope of Food Safety Asia's operations alongside the broader FSA brand. Under his leadership, the firm has grown into a trusted partner for businesses serious about HACCP certification, regulatory compliance, training, and audit. He sets the strategic direction, guards the standards, and stays personally close to the work — because for Nahid, food safety is never just a service line. It is a public health commitment.
Colleagues and clients describe him as principled, deeply knowledgeable, and unfailingly hands-on. Twenty years in, his ambition remains unchanged: to raise the bar of food safety across the Maldives, and to leave the industry safer than he found it.
